The girl and her pearls...

pearly

Saturday 17th July 1990, 2.34pm
Sarah's mom took little Sarah out to town to get some shopping done. As they strolled along the shops, from one to the other, Sarah's eyes caught hold of this pretty pink necklace made up of huge pearls being displayed at the window of a gift shop. Little Sarah went home and began to save up some money for it. She had such determination in her heart that one day, she will be the owner of that pretty pink plastic necklace.

5 months later,
Sarah went back to the shop with her mother together with the money that she has saved up for the necklace. She went home with such joy in her heart. The necklace has turned into one of her precious posession that she wore it around her neck twenty four seven.
One night, after the usual bed-time stories, Sarah's dad said to Sarah;
"Sarah, do you truly love me?"
Sarah replied; "Yes dad, I love you."
"If you do love me, can you give me your necklace?"
With hesitation, Sarah replied "Erm..dad...I love you but..but...this necklace is precious to me. I'm sorry dad..I could give you my toys, my dolls but please, don't take away this necklace from me."
"It's ok, Sarah. You can keep the necklace".
He kissed her on her forehead and said goodnight.
The next night before Sarah was being put to bed, her dad came up to her and said;
"Sarah, do you truly love me?"
Sarah replied; "Yes dad, you know I love you very much."
"If you do love me, can I have the necklace that you are wearing around your neck?"
Once again, Sarah replied, "Dad, I love you but I'm really sorry. You can have whatever you want in this room but please don't take away this necklace from me. I love this necklace so much. I do hope you understand, dad."
"Alright then, Sarah. You can keep the necklace".
He kissed her on her forehead and said goodnight.
The next night, as Sarah's dad was approaching the bedroom, he found her sitting on her bed with tears rolling down her cheeks. He immediately went over to Sarah and placed his arms over her.
"What's wrong Sarah? Why are you crying?"
In the palm of her hands were the necklace that she adored most.
"I'm sorry dad. You can have my necklace."
Sarah's dad then took the necklace from her hands. And in his pocket, he took out this beautifully wrapped package and handed it over to Sarah.
Sarah began to open it slowly...and in her hands were the most beautiful, delicate necklace she has ever seen in her life. It was made up of real pearls.

In life, we're very much like Sarah in the story. We do still hold on to things, things that become so precious to us that we find it so hard to let go when God requires us of it. Yet, I see a God who is ever so patient, so loving as He awaits for us to hand over our 'plastic pearl necklace' to Him so that in return, He could give us something so much better in its depth and value. God longs to bless by giving us His very best in our lives.

'Are you still holding back the 'plastic pearl necklace' in your life this moment?'

'Strength'

my phone

Once again, Hillsong Conference 05' was a blast. Hillsong Conference has been phenomenal this year, with over 28,000 delegates attending from all over the world. The theme for this year was 'Strength'. There's just heaps to share what I have drawn and written in my notes. Everthing points down to, Love God..love people, people and PEOPLE.

Joyce Meyer brought a word that echoed what seemed to be the theme of the night. Based on the passage from Luke 10 about the Good Samaritan, she began by saying, "True compassion moves you... it moves you to do something about an unjust situation." The packed house was captive as she posed the question: how many times have we missed opportunities to act and to see miracles because we've hung up the 'do not disturb sign' over our lives?

"Each one of us has a responsibility in our personal lives, our personal worlds to love somebody.
"You have the ability to be a life-changer every single, solitary day... because you have God's anointing."

I have learnt that to love somebody out there would be costly because it requires your time, effort and sometimes, your money. It would take you off once in a while from your own personal agenda, leads you out from your comfort zone, crossing paths with people that you could not possibly imagine.
The end result, the passion of Jesus would be people. Let's be challenged and be passionate abt it too!
"The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers, you did for me' Matthew 25: 40

'Doing it all with what is in my hands and heart because of what Christ has paid for us ........LOVE!'

Hazel, you've blessed me more than you could ever imagine! haha..thank you dear sister. God has indeed answered my prayer, the very minute you told me about the tickets. =) It has been unbelivable as I was looking back at the previous post that I have written. The one that I have sorta listed down some of the things that I had in mind to do during my holidays and Hillsong conference wasn't even in the list at all!

Camp

Was at youth camp last weekend. It was such a great time of fellowship, worship, prayer, sharing and not forgetting da food!!Praise God for yummy meals at camps!!! haha.. Above all, it was an excellent time of taking some time off, taking my mind off from the hustle and bustle of my daily routine to seek, focus upon and worship God. It was an awesome encounter with God in a fresh new level. I strongly believe that when one truly desires to seek and worship God with all of his/her heart, mind and soul, that's where God intervenes. Especially through hard times and circumstances where storm comes into my life, my boat gets a lil shaky. I'll start to loose focus because I'm far too concern whether the boat is going to sink or not instead of learning to trust in God who has authority above all things that even the winds and the raging waters obeyed Him.
One thing that got stucked in my head from the camp was that particular night, right before my very eyes, I saw this group of guys; Roell, Shuing and another two more person were praying for Luke. I marvelled at that sight, the presence of brotherly love they had for one another was strongly felt and by knowing that such love can only take place because of the love of Christ for us at the very beginning. 'We love because God first loved us." 1 John 4: 19.
