Made to Run freely

Have you ever come to a place where you've stopped running? Glimpse of the past memories of the races that you've been running comes in a subtle tiny voice reminding you that YOU were made to run and run freely. Very often, we've listened to the voices of our circumstances and the giants over our lives to comform, compromise, giving them permission to put a certain label on ourselves. Slowly, they begin to chip away a little part of who you are. You start to loose your joy, your true identity to those voices that have come to steal, kill and destroy. Soon enough, you start to believe that perhaps, or maybe, you were not made to run afterall.

YOU then stop running.

I remembered clearly on this particular message by Joyce Meyer about how our christian faith and characteristics are very much like an eagle. Being placed together with a flock of chickens (our circumstances), we sometimes believe and see ourselves as a chicken instead of an eagle. In the midst of spending time on the ground together with the chickens, there's this very familiar sound that you would hear and connect with. Until one day, as you look up towards where the sound comes from, you begin to see an eagle soaring across the clear blue sky. Yes, you begin to look at yourself clearly and realise that you have the same exact features as that eagle. You then take a few bold steps in attempt to fly. The first few attempts have been difficult because afterall ,you've not been flying for quite some time. Day by day, your wings grow stronger in those practices..and soon enough YOU begin to fly and soar freely across the sky.

Take heart & look up,
because that gentle familiar voice still calls after us at where we are to run freely with the wind.

'I started running again the other day.
And it felt so good'
-my reverie-
